The difference
2019–2020 academic year
How we relate
A foreign language is a subject to study.
↓Teaches you to write tests and translate on paper.
A foreign language is a means of communication.
↓Teaches you to talk in the language.
Method
The approach rests on conversation. Getting a student talking in a foreign language is the teacher’s main job.
All four skills develop at once — listening, speaking, grammar and writing — inside a real conversation.
Only the target language is used in class.
Authentic material: articles, books, songs, films.
The method helps students loosen up and learn to communicate rather than fear mistakes.
The whole programme is aligned to the Common European Framework.
Common European Framework
A — basic user · B — independent user · C — proficient user

The triangle
Results appear only when all three sides do their part. The teacher owns the method, the child the effort, the parent the support and the routine.
The strongest line on the diagram is the horizontal one, between child and parent. More often than not, it decides whether a student reaches the next step.
Transparency

What we teach from
Lifehack Lab
Held at the Sokolova and Islyukova offices. Season pass 1,500 ₽, single session 400 ₽.
A block of in-person workshops for parents:
Between sessions there is a chat with homework aimed at understanding your child better — results go there too, along with any questions.
